Brain :: fMRI
Caption: Areas of BOLD activation (Yellow annotations) can be seen, achieved by a 30 second on/off boxcar paradigm with right-handed finger-tapping. Data was post-processed with MedX: a students t-test was applied followed by Bonferroni correction. Activated voxels were superimposed on an anatomic T2-weighted image obtained immediately following the fMRI acquisition.
Sensory and motor strip activation (Act-Con) is most prominent in the contalateral hemisphere, as expected. Some sensory and motor strip activation (Act-Ip) is present in the ipsilateral hemisphere, also expected. Supplementary Motor Area activation (Act-SMA) is present, as expected. Note the normal anatomy associated with the activation: PreCG-Bilateral Pre-central gyri, aka the motor strips and PostCG-Bilateral Post-central gyri, aka the sensory stripsMethods: Data was post-processed with MedX: a students t-test was applied followed by Bonferroni correction.
