Technology is a moving target.
The target moves for a variety of reasons most of which are good: advancements, improvements, increased efficiency, and so on. While it is a challenge to keep up, adopting change that yields an increase in value is usually worth the pain to change.

This disease, depending on the severity, may result in blindness in children that are prematurely born (~80,000 per year). Therefore, swift, accurate diagnosis is essential for reducing morbidity and mortality (medical term for suffering).

Those very special times when I am really paying attention and I don't read anything into what is being said, then later discover that I misunderstood what was said...well...that is baffling.
