VisualShare Awarded NIH SBIR Phase II

Salt Lake City, UT – October 12, 2008 - VisualShare receives Phase II SBIR award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop web-based Telehealth applications for child abuse medical diagnosis.

The award VisualShare wins a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute for Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to develop the web-based image informatics solution TeleCAM™ for peer review and quality assurance in child abuse medicine.

VisualShare technology solutions provide a collaborative framework for sharing photo documentation and also functions as a consultation record, similar to an electronic patient record, that collects the entire clinical case content for peer review by clinicians at geographically remote sites. The Phase II SBIR grant award allows VisualShare to further develop innovative solutions for child abuse diagnosis while expanding into other clinical imaging specialties.

VisualShare has launched the TeleCAM™ solution for managing child abuse, as well as e-Consult™, which is based on the VisualStrata™ platform for web-based telemedicine consultations and peer review of images for medical diagnosis.
